Though my career is started in finance with Shell, my main interest has always been in venture capital. In this role, I’ve been witness to ground-breaking innovation, evolving business models, navigated challenging funding environments and met some inspiring people.
What motivates me, however, is connecting with amazing entrepreneurs - individuals driven by a desire to succeed, and helping them turn their vision into reality.
Background
With over 20 years of experience in venture capital and private equity, I’ve built my career around supporting founders who are driven to create exceptional businesses.
I live in the South West and I am constantly inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives here. From Aviation and Semiconductors to Life Sciences, Deep Tech is truly in the DNA of this area. There’s something special about the region’s drive to take on any challenge, no matter how complex and this has definitely inspired me. It even convinced me to help found a new South West-based Venture firm – fundraising is not easy!
I joined Mercia in 2016, and it’s been an exciting journey, especially as I've have been part of our own scale-up story. As a member of our investment committee, I also have the privilege of gaining broad oversight across our diverse investment portfolio which enables me to support our teams across a wide range of companies.
My interest has primarily been on sectors like software, materials, electronics, manufacturing, and engineering.
