Building relationships
I enjoy partnering with founders who have big ambitions, a clear vision and strong self-awareness. It's important to me that they are open to collaboration, working closely with us investors and their own teams to achieve their goals.
Background
I'm a scientist at heart. After studying Biology at Oxford University, I completed an MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College London. Studying cells and genes gave way to a career in the civil service as a science and technology policy officer.
A research project on the UK's use of data for emergency response introduced me to big data and analytics. This sparked a shift to a role at IBM, where I worked on a range of things, from sensors on tanks, to VR in nuclear power stations and optimising waste management.
In 2021, I joined Mercia, eager to leverage my science and tech background to evaluate exciting start-ups. Since then I've invested in 10 businesses, sat on 10 boards and supported two exits. I'm open to all kinds of opportunities, but most of my time is spent on the nexus where Software and Health/Life sciences combine.
I enjoy partnering with founders who have big ambitions, a clear vision and strong self-awareness.
