Building relationships

I am passionate about supporting companies that aim to create a more sustainable and healthier world. I enjoy partnering with founders and CEOs who are driven by solving meaningful, unmet needs. I’m particularly drawn to companies delivering impactful solutions that are grounded in strong unit economics and poised for significant growth.

Background

I have always been equally fascinated by the physical sciences - such as Chemistry and Physics and disciplines that explore human nature, like the Humanities and Psychology.

I chose to study chemistry at university and later earned a PhD in chemistry from the University of Nottingham. As an underlying science, chemistry provided me with a strong foundation to transition into technology transfer roles at UCL and later at Oxford University. There, I supported a diverse range of commercialisation projects across fields such as Biotech, Renewable Fuels, Energy Storage, Materials, Software and Drug Development.

During my time at Oxford, I was involved in launching spinout companies, guiding their fundraising efforts and supporting their early development through board roles. In early 2022, I transitioned into venture capital and joined Mercia, where I primarily focus on Deep tech and Life Science investments.

More recently, I’ve rekindled my interest in psychology and am currently exploring how Humanistic Psychology principles can be applied to venture capital and start-up culture. I believe that fostering empathy and a people-centred approach is essential for building resilient businesses.

I am passionate about supporting companies that aim to create a more sustainable and healthier world.
