Building relationships

With a general background in business management, I thrive on building strong, collaborative relationships with founders. I am interested in their vision and look to offer support beyond capital through insight and advice gained through my experience as an Investor and Portfolio Manager. My approach as an active listener helps me provide personalised guidance and support for founders looking for strategic partners as part of their growth journey.

Background

Having successfully completed a B.A. in Business Management and an MSc in Finance and Marketing as an international student, I soon faced the challenge of finding an industry that I would enjoy applying my skills.

Venture Capital was unknown to me at the time of graduating in 2011, however after a year obtaining work experience in a breakdown and recovery call centre, I made the jump into an industry that matched my philosophy focusing on building successful long term projects by helping founders achieve their long term goals (i.e. grow a business to x, achieve financial freedom or have enough to retire their parents).

In 2013 I joined Finance Yorkshire/Anticus and learnt about the industry from an administration point of view. In 2017 I joined an ambitious Mercia, rising through the ranks from administrator to an investment professional and in this time I have been involved in 5 companies ranging from manufacturing, edtech, software and fintech/hospitality, including two successful exits to date.

As a generalist investor, I adopt a keen attitude to listening and learning about the best opportunities to support between the Seed and Series A stage.

My approach as an active listener helps me provide personalised guidance and support for founders looking for strategic partners as part of their growth journey.
